Artist's description:

This is an oil painting of two hands, one male and one female, and a golden apple against a cerulean blue sky.
The painting shows the judgement of Paris, which occurred during a banquet for the Olympic gods. The goddess of discord was not invited to this party, to avoid trouble. This angered her, so she invaded the banquet and to stir up trouble threw in a golden apple as a price for beauty. To judge which goddess was the most beautiful the youth Paris had to decide and he chose Aphrodite.
In this painting I have concentrated on the moment where Paris hands over the price to Aphrodite. I chose to paint only the most essential part of the story: both their hands and the golden apple, set against a clear blue sky.

This oil painting is a handmade, unique artwork, signed at the back. It is painted on linen, using artist grade oil paints, media and varnish. The painting is composed of several overlapping layers that work together to create a three-dimensional effect. You can find more detailed information on my painting method including a few examples of successive paint layers in the 'Me at work' section of this website.

The artwork will be shipped in a sturdy cardboard box, secured and wrapped in special laminated bubble wrap to ensure the safety of the painting during transport. Shipping is provided by PostNL.
