Original artwork description:

The Interloper…
A sculptural transmission tower reflects the late afternoon glow.

Not far from where I live is the Whitnall Highway—not your usual highway, but a wide, diagonal swath cutting through the San Fernando Valley in Southern California and lined with a forest of power towers. As the colors of the sky evolve during the day, this collection of towers and their lines reflects those hues, creates their own, and divides the sky into complex shapes. So sculptural and minimal. One tower in particular I’ve captured in many weather conditions and times of day. “The Interloper” is my power tower muse.

My Artistic Inspiration…
I’m a cityscape oil painter passionate about intense color and deep contrast. My inspirations are the fluid light, dramatic vistas, quiet neighborhoods and stark landscapes of California and the Southwest. I paint with a vibrant palette and expressive brushstrokes to share my vision of an essence of the urban experience. I hope that the viewer will be inspired to see the world around them in a new light.
