Artist's description:

Part of the training regime for many Australian racehorses is to swim, whether it be in a pool at a training facility or in the ocean.

It was early afternoon, with very harsh light. As the horses emerged from the pool with the sun blazing behind them, it was difficult conditions to shoot. However, focusing just on the hooves as the horse emerged from the water and suddenly the harsh back light was my best friend. I waited for an hour to get this shot, with just the right hoof, and just the right amount of movement lifting off the ground with the right amount of water.

Patience is the key.
For every 100 shots that don't work, you have to persevere for the one that might just work!
