Watching a garden border full of flowers, the wind picked up and blew loose petals away like confetti. The flowers seemed to be escaping the confines of their bed. A little artistic license and the Great escape was on.
The background of green and yellow was painted wet in wet and tipped to create a dynamic base. Salt was added while still wet to create texture and pale holes for the flowers. After being left to dry for several days, the salt was removed and the flowers added.
The colours are rich and bright and there is a sense of joyous abandon about the painting.
