Artist's description:

Pulses racing. thigh muscles pumping, the sprinters are having their moment at the end of a stage each one looking to gain points and the green jersey.

Peter the Great (Sagan) arrived in the bear pit at Bern(e) in Switzerland a whisker ahead of his Norwegian rival Alexander Kristoff with a lunge for the line which had spectators holding their breath. It was the third stage win for Sagan, riding for Russian team Tinkoff, during a highly successful ride for him in the Tour de France 2016. This painting captures the moment in a year when Sagan wore the yellow jersey for the first time, stormed ahead to hold the green jersey at the end, and also took most combatitive rider.

I've built up the painting with acrylics on a 2.5 cm deep chalk white paint-edged linen canvas which is 60 x 60 cm. Signed on the front bottom left in paint by the artist. The canvas stretchers are professional quality hardwood. Fitted with D-rings and a hanging cord. Ready to hang.
