Artist's description:

Acrylic paint in a 8.5 X 11 X 1.75 inch cigar box.

I've been staring down this cigar box for quite some time and decided to finally use it for this project.

There are layers of color that play with your vision as you approach it at different angles. That with the shadows caused by its deep setting, the grain of the wood and the gloss of the finish makes for an engaging visual experience. The painted interior edges are as much as part of the piece as the painting on the bottom.

Painting is ready to hang.

This is a series of paintings that are painted on wood and have the same themed setting. The theme is not as regiment as Rothko's multi-forms. Instead the hope is that the pieces instill a sense of silent, lonely places. I can't think of a more solitude place than a ghost town.

This series is not intended to be sad or depressing, but instead reflective and inward-looking.
