Video of painting being created: https://vimeo.com/216214251

Upon hearing of the passing of James Rosenquist this year, I set out that evening to create an homage to one of my favorite artist's of the 20th century. One of my favorite paintings of his was of a dishwasher...and I just loaded mine at home to capacity...the stage was set.

I didn't have any expectation of the outcome, or idea, other than the reference photo I took of my dishwasher, and started slinging paint onto the board.

I wore a shirt and tie while painting out of respect...but I seriously like painting in a suit or tie. It reminds me of my New York days, coming home from the day job in a suit, and picking up work on a painting before even taking my jacket off. Inevitably, always showing up at work the next day with paint all over myself. Considering it was finance, they were not completely amused.

This painting is part of my series "Kinetic Vision of Hidden Structure"

Rest well Mr. Rosenquist.
