Exploration of the male form in printed media through a collage composed of vintage magazines, antique prints and white panels. This work is a study of shape, composition and masculinity, set against the background of British history, heteronormativity and male objectification. Authentic medical prints were used to create a small detail in the sailor’s hand. The figure of “the sailor” is explored in abstraction, using white panels as a device for anonymity and mystique.
