Artist's description:

A new take on the famous painting of Ophelia by British artist Sir John Everett Millais (1851). This painting is unique, because it depicts Ophelia's passing into the Spirit World, a magical mandala of the universe symbolizes her aura, in a swirling floral energy of nature.
A mix of influences bring together an unusual pairing Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and Gustav Klimt, are applied in an inspirational spontaneous painting of bold colors and liquid goldleaf paint. Ophelia's face is smooth and serene in contrast to the bold rendering of her hair and nature's floral energy. The influence of Pre-Raphaelite is in the romantic subject matter and does not conform to their ridged rules of painting nature in intense detail.

Materials used:

acrylic and goldleaf paint
