Artist's description:

Sometimes I like to let colours tell their own story and I find creating abstracts works allows this to happen. The concept of this painting came to fruition while listening to the many reports about the terrible plight of those who have been displaced from their countries as a consequence of war.

The anonymous shapes represent people trying to find sanctuary, the colour red being the constant danger that they face; the yellow signifies their hope, and the white edges, which have subtle drips running through them, the unknown future and the silent tears they must cry. Many layers were used to created the depth of colour.

The standard-depth gallery wrapped canvas measures 20" X 16", and is sold unframed, but has painted sides, and is wired and ready to hang. It is discreetly signed on the right-hand side (see image). It has been varnished with satin varnish, which gives it a soft sheen.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint and ink, stretched linen canvas, sand texture paste - all artists' quality.
