Artist's description:

The castle sits on the entrance to the two large logoons that sit on the edge of the old city at Taranto. All the fishing boats have to pass the castle to reach the old city behind. The way the light falls on the castle is truly beautiful, but due to it's location the best time of the day for this is early in the morning. The picture was made in August and the light is very mellow first thing in the morning. I was drawn by all the muted tones and the softness of the light. Taranto is a busy town, but the view is tranquil and I wanted to capture the sense of peace and quiet that first light brings.
