There is nothing better than a walk or stroll on a tropical beach when you know that in your native homeland it is grey, cold, wet and slushy with snow and ice. About an hour or so before evening mealtime, desert boots on and trusty camera and tripod at the ready we set off on our beach stroll. Some nights the atmospherics change at the last moment as they can often do and other times when the sun is down and the afterglow manifests itself you get the best firework show in town.
I just love the transition from golden hour to blue hour, traditionally the photographers playtime! And this night lived up to expectations. I wanted to try and capture part of this transition using a slow exposure and a wide angle lens to capture the sheer expanse of the scene. I also wanted to create that feeling of soft marshmallow focus almost dreamlike with the sea hugging the contours of the land as it comes ashore. I just love the way the whispy clouds guide you towards the night instead of the light.
Let me know what your experiences are as you immerse yourself in this almost surreal landscape.
