Artist's description:

Obsessed in trying to analyse my life since leaving the security of home and educational environments in which I worked until 1977, and returning to working as an artist, I found that discarded and thus untainted mementos of the past came to be of reassuring significance. This collage is principally made up of by-products and off-cuts of old artworks mainly produced in the 1960s and 70s plus by-products of photographic reproductive techniques available to me in a commercial graphics studio at the time of composing this essay.

The image of an attractive young lady, taken from an office calendar, reclining throughout the June of 1992, provided me with the necessary spur to overcome many past inhibitions and start to confront a terrible anguish that had so long endured.

Oh, for the sweetness of anguish one felt when one was adolescent!

Materials used:

ramed Collage comprising silk screen ink, bromide print, photocopy and various painted pigments on paper behind acrylic sheet.
