Artist's description:

This piece is a pivotal piece of work for me. It is constructed from four smaller canvases, fastened together to form its whole. fastened visibly and roughly, strong and un-apologetic for the manner of its construction.

Thematically it deals with landscape and the credibility of the Western Art Cannon. It was begun as a pictorial construction response to a very well known Renaissance work in the National Gallery collection in the UK. It developed further into the realms of abstraction and construction as time went on. For me the strength of this piece is in its balancing of pure aesthetic and joyful response to something familiar and existant and to the forceful and physical anti-art means of creation...

The work is constructed with wooden areas that protrude from the sides (please see photos) so that the overall dimensions listed below are not exact. Also the finish of this piece is deliberately rough so please bear that in mind if you are looking for a 'corporate' piece of work.

As with any of my work if you are seriously interested in purchase then please contact me for further information and to arrange precise shipping costs especially if you reside outside of the UK. I will always endeavour to charge you the correct shipping costs and never more.

Materials used:

Oil, leather, wire, wood, ink, acrylic, paper and various mixed media upon canvas and wood.
