This linocut print is a smaller study as a stand-alone composition from a larger design that I am currently working at on this theme.
It is an apple with a bite take from it, hence the title 'Temptation' alluding to the fabled myth of the Garden of Eden, but insinuating to all things forbidden and how very simple things in life can be temptations in disguise. It shows the power of seduction, which is attractive and irresistible!
This Linocut print is from my original sketches and design which I then transferred to a Lino, and was handprinted at home. It is a very small edition, and due to the hand printing, each of these is an unique and individual piece.
I love the graphical simplicity of this design, and an exploration of how minimal mark making can help achieve form and structure in linocuts.
The design is in shades of pink, red, and yellow. It is created with oil-based inks on velvety smooth Zerkall printing paper.
It is sent unframed with an attractive packaging in a reinforced envelope but if you would like to add a frame and mount, please contact me for prices.
