Artist's description:

Painted from the remnants from fishing and other nautical industries on the Mornington Peninsula Victoria. This painting is the original centrepiece for the solo exhibition held in 2014 titled "Tales of Things Lost or Forgotten". It consists of three canvasses of 120x90cm totalling a length of 360cm wide by 90cm high. All canvasses are lined on the back and the work has a certificate of authenticity attached to the lining. There are "Easter eggs hidden in each panel, which indicate periods of Janice's life over the years, tying the past of the area to her personal journey.
Janice wanted to record what is left behind after a site or pier has been abandoned or had its purpose changed over time, and items are left in the bush or out of sight on the shoreline, losing their usefulness and meaning.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint base, impasto, oil paints, lined on the back with certificate
