Artist's description:

She looks off to the distance with thoughts of where they want her to go, who they want her to be. She does not know that place, she knows she won’t belong there. The wind rushes past from behind her trying to carry her there. Voices whisper through the wind trying to reassure her and entice her to be carried away. Her spirit is strong, she knows who she is, and though her heart feels fear she knows she has the strength to go against the wind. To take flight to places unseen, unseen but sure to be where she belongs.

In this painting I wanted to express the subjects emotion through a contrast of movement. This symbolises a struggle to go against the grain with expectations.
