Original artwork description:

Ever since a trip to Japan in 2015 I've loved Japanese culture and cuisine. I've painted sushi a few time in the past but this original A4 piece presents the subject in a slight change to my usual style.

The hand drawn lettering at the top spells out the word sushi in colours that reflect the colour of the food, then below that are six examples of sushi, including the classic nigiri (fish or egg on top of a rectangular shape of rice) and the more westernised California roles (rolled rice with avocado, salmon, and seaweed on the outside).

I love representing food in simplistic, graphic styles so that they become almost pattern like, and this, coupled with the rounded lettering, I believe creates a pleasing, bold end result that would look great in your kitchen, or any room in the house.

Unlike the rest of my works this piece has been completely created using Posca paint pens, giving it more of an illustration feel. It's definitely the original and not a print though, on thick high quality acid free paper.

PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in a black A4 frame for photo purposes.
