Artist's description:

Tollymore forest is a place I never tire of painting ,the river ,the Shimna cuts its way down through the mountains to the sea giving an endless supply of views and landscapes that would inspire any painter ,I love trying to capture the lighting and the movement of the water as it cascades over the moss covered rocks,In this particular scene a very old and gnarled oak was clinging on to life at the edge of the river its roots and support gradually being eroded away from below, and as usual with my paintings the contrast between the dark foreground and the bright green of the background attracted my eye,I also enjoy the challenge of capturing the water which adds a bit more life to the painting
