Artist's description:

In Texas, we consider cicada hulls to be "found" art. Their wings are indeed a work of beauty. Wikipedia tells us "Cicadas have been featured in literature since the time of Homer's Iliad, and as motifs in art from the Chinese Shang dynasty. They have been used in myths and folklore to represent carefree living and immortality. " I incorporated some into this piece which is made of my own paper and other found paper. It will fit nicely into a modern setting or one that showcases the amazing natural world.

Materials used:

Artist-made paper, found paper, cicada wings
