"Going on a very hot walk with my dog, I stopped under the shade of a tree with the dog to cool down, and got out my backpack with my watercolours in and painted this." It depicts the heat of a hot English summers day, due to the gentle bleeding of the paint, creating the smudging effect of haze. The main subject of the painting is 2/3 of the way up, which creates the feeling of sitting in amongst the corn.
