Winter sun casts long shadows across a frosted field as early lambs and their mother stroll across the field in contented togetherness. One of those arresting sights of the winter into spring transition, a sure sign that the new year is rebirthing and a gentle new radiance is starting to hold its own in promise of longer, warmer days ahead.
The sight of these lambs as the setting sun cut across the field at such an acute angle that the field edge was washed away in a dazzle of light had me pulling my car over into a ditch to take the snaps that evolved into this composition. Truly a magical and life-affirming sight and such unexpected yellowy tones that were a joy to recreate.
