Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This is a study of jet streams making their way across the late afternoon sky of Tucson, Arizona. The text reads as follows:

"The origin of clouds is on where there are expressions in the sky that come between places, express abstractions which are sometimes reflections from the desert, as if the sky is a pool showing sand patterns and halo-refractions from the desert above. The gigantic pool at night contains the phosphorescence of beacons called stars, as if masking the eyes of the atmosphere. These clouds after nightfall and just before turn grey and sallow like smoke, and hide secrets in their fogs."
