Artist's description:

This little watercolour was painted in preparation for a larger spray-painted piece called 'Ooh, Yeah'.

It was created with lots of layering, using some of my favourite paints and pigments - including 'Amethyst Genuine' by Daniel Smith Watercolors. This paint is made out of ground up mineral pigments from actual amethyst crystal, which deposits a very very fine glitter along with the lovely purple colour. It's a very subtle effect that I'm just in love with right now.

There are areas in this picture where the very heavy deposits of ink and paint have cracked. I view these areas as a natural product of the way that I paint, and add texture and character to the piece.

For watercolours I use only the finest artist quality paints on heavyweight Khadi Paper, which is handmade from recycled cotton rag.

Materials used:

640 gsm khadi paper, watercolour, ink, neon pigment
