Artist's description:

"Stroppy" is a British slang word that means miserable, sulky, a bit difficult. It seemed the perfect description for this cow, who I met when she was in a local cow shed for the winter. To me, she's the perfect illustration of the way cows never lose their dignity, even when their circumstances are less than dignified.

Materials used:

heavy watercolour paper, watercolours, pastels, pen and ink
