Artist's description:

I love classic literature and how it brings vivid visual pictures in my head.
This one is inspired by all times favorite poem from Alexander Block, “The Stranger”.
Although quite textured, with thick oil paint layering, it has a mistical flare and very dreamy due to foggy contrast and pastel colors.
The smoky mist coming from her lips contains words from the poem (...exhaling Parfum and Mists she takes her sit near the window...). A part of the poem hand painted around the frame:

...And every evening – no exception
(Or am I only lost in dreams?) –
A girlish figure’s silk reflection
In misty window dimly gleams.
And, always faithful to her solitude,
She brings a hint of fragrant mists,
And passes through the drunken multitude,
And by the window wall she sits.
The ancient legends allegorical
Drift from her silks' mysterious scent,
And from her feathers bending mournfully,
And from her slender jeweled hand.
My eyes are drawn and strangely planted,
I look beyond her dismal veil,
And I behold a shore enchanted,
Enchanted, the horizon’s trail...
