This large and shiny figurative wall hanging is, in a roundabout way, inspired by a couple of words from a song, by the rather fabulous Roisin Murphy. You may recall she was in a band called Moloko. I was listening to lots of her music while I was daydreaming about this piece and wondering where it would take me.I was thinking about a whole mixture of stuff, from couture fashion, to the supernatural, fantasy art, elemental creatures, the forces of nature, the furies - though there were more than two, of course - Nemesis, the goddess who doles out punishment to wrongdoers, without compunction and a load of other mixed up myths and legends. I love the fact that people who have already seen it give it their own story and interpretation. And I love hearing what they are. Mostly they are different from my intention. However, I love that too. It's amazing and exciting to hear what others imagine the story to be. . . . . .
Coloured, textured, dichroic, variegated mirror and glass.
