Walking on the beach, watching the waves and the patterns made in the sand..... that's what this piece reminds me of! The curves and textures, with the blue-green forms reaching into the sky, Strandline embodies a maritime experience, with the roughness of rocks and the curves of the water.

Part of the Coastal Blue series that I worked on from 2017-2019, this and the other works in this series are inspired by the Atlantic that I can see from my windows. I am a bit obsessive about the sea, and need to get down there most days, just to be on the beach, look at the sea, and, generally, pick up shells, pebbles and sometimes seaweed.

This sculpture can be displayed either inside (its not too big) or outside, as its frost-proof and weather resistant. Out side, I display the sculptures on an up-turned flowerpot or a low wall.
