Old Leigh High street on a sunny summers afternoon. As well as celebrating the busy atmosphere of the high street what also appealed were the rhythms of red and white running through the scene starting, starting with the red scooter then on to the red and white flowers in the planters and finally arriving with the white of the Strand Cafe walls. I then carried the colour theme on through some of the figures.
This is a studio based painting that I completed from references gathered on the spot during the summer under painted in acrylics and completed in Oils and painted on a canvas board.
