Artist's description:

Inspired by the bright colours of the boats in Stonehouse Harbour, Plymouth, I went there early morning and painted on 'Admiral's Hard', the slipway used by passengers boarding the ferry to Cornwall. The distant buildings are Royal William Yard. It was midsummer's day, and I used lots of cerulean blue, which has given a calm effect. The canvas dimensions are special, as they correspond to the Golden Section, a proportion considered to be especially pleasing to the eye.

Materials used:

Artists quality acrylic paint on a stretched canvas, golden section proportions

Stonehouse pool (2017)
