Original artwork description:
The stock was given to me by a visitor - I put them in a vase and decided they needed something else, so I picked a peony from my garden to add to the display. The peony provides a point of focus and its bowl shape compliments the vertical shapes of the stock.
To me this feels like a very happy painting, maybe because the peony has smiley petals.
This oil painting was done on a wrapped stretched canvas that is painted on the edges. It is wired on the back ready for hanging.
