I love to paint fruits, and pomegranate -- so bursting with color, ripeness and multitude of life's goodness -- is one of my favorite fruit and painting subject. Pomegranates symbolize the plentifulness and holds some spiritual significance as well. So, this original painting is one of my artworks, depicting this wonderful fruit.
The ruby-red, round pomegranates make for a dramatic focal point, in contrast to the blues, yellows and other colors, as well as to the shapes of other objects. This still life is painted in my trademark technique that I call “stained glass on canvas” and as such (which is always the case with this style of painting) is vibrant and full of light.
To paint this artwork I’ve used high-quality acrylic paints, after which the lines I’ve made with a Vitrel relief outliner to produce stained glass effect on canvas. I’ve finished the painting with several coats of clear high-gloss varnish to increase the effect and to protect investment for years of display. The stained glass effect is best realized when you look at it with your very own eyes and in closer proximity. The photo image does not do any justice to this painting, as my camera does not capture neither the richness and luminosity of colors, nor the dimensional relief of the lines, replacing glass-like shine of the surface with a flashlight glare.
The artwork is artist-signed and dated on a back. It comes with a Certificate of Authenticity and is ready to be displayed with or without a frame. Sides of canvas painted so framing is not necessary. The shape and size of this painting would bring interest to any vertical wall space and would look great against white (or any neutral, modern background.
