Still, Sculpture in metal and glass, motionless or productive, a play of words. This sculpture was made with reference to the traditional scotland distillery and the highlands. Deep silence and calm, the distillery is a mechanical beauty for the eye, but with natural beauty also comes a rich heritage.
This piece was constructed using musical instruments parts and ceramic vase. This is a totally unique piece as every part is unique in its own but the viewer will see a new interpretation of each piece put together by the artist.
I created these sculptures by using broken or otherwise discarded objects, to give them new or continued life by reworking them as works of art. using Kintsukuroi, to not only repair, but also to celebrate the initial damage with golden emphasis. My work was inspired by knowledge of this art, and a desire to preserve the past, like most of my figurative work.
