David Bowie has been inspiring artists for many years with his image and his music. I have painted his portraits many times in different techniques and in different images, but this portrait surpassed all the previous versions. It was created on pure inspiration and was originally planned as a classic portrait for my personal collection, but after much thought I decided to show it to the world and put it up for sale, because I think this is the best way to pay tribute to the memory of my revered idol, "The Man Who Sold peace». In this portrait, I tried to convey not a photographic resemblance, but a collective image that is not subject to either time, space or death. He has no age, he is a Starman who sends us greetings from distant planets, where he returned home, leaving an indelible and bright mark on the earth. The Black Star is a reference to the latest album "Black Star", which is here, next to us - just reach out, the Red Planet, unattainable for us - the home of this many-faced alien who once fell to Earth.
