Artist's description:

Saint Nectan's Glen is an area of woodland in north Cornwall stretching along both banks of the Trevillet River. The glen's most prominent feature is St Nectan's Kieve, a spectacular sixty foot waterfall through a hole in a rock.
This photograph was taken with a 6 x 9 cm format pinhole camera using traditional photographic film. The exposure was over 10 minutes due to the low light level in the glen. The long exposure lent itself to the subject, blurring the motion of the water and therefore making the subject matter even more ethereal.
I developed the film myself, and the negative was reproduced and optimized digitally before being printed using pigment ink to ensure a print life of more than 85 years.

Materials used:

Traditional film. Printed on Baryta paper.
