Sri Yantra is a form of mystical diagram originally used by one of the schools of Hinduism. It consists of nine interlocking triangles that surround a central point known as a Bindu that represents the cosmic center. These triangles represent the cosmos and the human body.
I started to create spiritual art like Madalas, Yantras, and Hindu and Buddhist deities when, after years of practicing yoga I finally got an opportunity to accomplish a two years Yoga Teaching course. Being surrounded by the atmosphere firstly I painted a couple of Yantras and Mandalas for myself and when my classmates saw my work… immediately I got a few orders.
I create Yanrtas that either follow strict, established rules of a canon or sometimes I may do slight variations. Like this Round Yantra with the Diagram of Sri Yantra inside surrounded by the representation of an unfolding lotus flower that unwinds following the rule of the golden section.
Like some of my Mandalas and Yantras, this painting has a mesmerizing 3D effect thanks to that play of light and shadow. This piece will be a great support and pleasure for the soul of any spiritually engaged person and also for the eyes of any viewer.
