Sometimes nature takes it into her head to blow your socks clean off! An English woodland in the full glory its annual Bluebell flush surely stands as one of her great moments.
Here, the scene is back-lit as earl morning sunlight filters through fresh yellow-green leaves, causing the trees to appear to emanate a light of their own.
The Bluebells, lit by gentle diffused light, glow quietly blue in the foreground, with scattered patches of sunlight breaking through.
