Artist's description:

Drawn from life, all in front of the model; it took about an hour, I guess. I lose track of time when I'm drawing.
This is a definite example of "the more you look, the more you see" - at first, you see what your mind tells you is there: the models's back, shoulders, legs. It's only when you start drawing that you realise how complex, how subtle is the interplay between the surfaces - a small shadow here, a slight irregularity there, a shadow, a highlight. The word "tactile" is grossly overused but in this case, its appropriate.
