I was moved by the outcry that came from the killing of Cecil, a local favorite male lion at Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. He was part of a study the University of Oxford was conducting and wore a collar, thus they were alerted to his demise. There has been much talk about the circumstances leading to the death of Cecil and regardless of what side of that coin you find yourself on, the outcome is still the same: Cecil is dead.
I painted this in honor of him and will donate the proceeds of this piece to Oxford so they may continue to study more magnificent animals like Cecil.

I make my paintings with the best acrylic paints and coat them in a non-yellowing UV protective fixative/lacquer to ensure years of vibrancy to come.
