This is an EXTRA SPECIAL print.
I think you would be hard pressed to find another piece of artwork like this one. Very unique piece. This print combines two process; the very popular SCREEN PRINTING method and the not so common(these days) method of LETTER PRESSING useing a Grotesque Metal Typeface.
The image is a staggered frame composition of 18 photographs taken by my self of a deceased speckeled Finch. In this print we see the bird appearing to move from left to right which is the orientation that we read in but infact the pictures are in reverse so he is moving in each individual picture from right to left. The type letterpressed in a translucent pigment is also tranveling from right to left but reads left to right.
The intension was for this print to hightlight the individual ways in which people read and understand the world around them. We are vessels for information and the way that we process that information varies between ages, sexes, and species. This print explores the notion that its OK to have contradicting, challanging and opposing ideas on things and that makes for a much more interesting and beautiful world in my opinion (however controversial that is) =p
Anyway I hope you enjoy this print. It certainly would act as a very interesting talking point in any home between all your friends and family. One of a kind.
