Printed in lovely red, this would be a highly original present. This is an unique original linoprint developed from the soundwaves for the Arctic Monkeys song 'Do I wanna Know?
Only one left from this small limited edition design.
The two-tone reduction linoprint is based on the first 1:09 of the Arctic Monkeys song, which features a rocking guitar solo. Would be a fantastic gift for any music lover.
I first developed this idea for my own daughter's 19th birthday. She is a musician, a violinist and a huge Arctic Monkeys fan. I toyed with what to give someone who is quite fussy and has a very strong aesthetic sense! She absolutely loved this original and unique print. Great praise coming from a music lover indeed!
A reduction print is a relief print formed by cutting away layers of lino, as each colour layer is consecutively built up, hence it being a reductive method. This means that nothing (or not much) of the design is left once the prints are all completed. Hence, the number of prints are limited, and each is hand printed. Variations can occur between them, making each one truly original. Also, the layering gives each print an unique texture which distinguishes the handmade prints from reproductions.
I first created the sound waves from the arctic monkeys song and then digitally manipulated it to extract the design for this linocut, which I then transferred to the lino block.
This work is printed with oil-based relief inks on 210 gsm acid-free printing paper and has a beautiful finish. It is numbered, titled and signed at the bottom. All sizes are approximate.
This artwork will be packaged securely in a hard-backed envelope with cellophane/bubble wrap for protection. For international orders, any custom duties and taxes will be paid by the buyer.
