In many tribal cultures, including Native American, the four directions were sacred. In this piece I celebrate the East with its own song...the howl of the wolf. The crows are the messengers between Spirit and our physical world. "Song of the East" is written over the painting in several languages to celebrate the similarities we share from one culture to another. The orange of the rising sun is the start of a new day, while the moon heralds the coming of the night. Each day begins and ends from the east.
