Artist's description:

For this painting I used old renaissance technics like tempera and oil-resin paint. I studied and practiced the old technics to use them in the 21th century. The painting is build in many layers. After preparing carefully the wooden panel I start drawing with tempera. Then follows a layer of transparant oilresin paint. After drying I start drawing again with tempera, and so on. Doing so you get a great brilliance of the colours like we know from the old paintings made with tempera.
The ‘woman-bird’ flyes in free space of the big blue sky enjoying her moment of freedom, knowing that down below ‘It sometimes rains’ even if there are nice colourful dahlias.
The painting has a very nice black classic frame with a very small line of leavegold near the panel.

Materials used:

oilpaint on linen
