Artist's description:

This small detailed, textured piece is about love, and sometimes loving someone you least expected to love. It's also about how love comes in different ways, shapes and forms. Each love is different but just as real. The piece was inspired by the Amy Winehouse version of the song, Someone to Watch Over Me. Find it on YouTube. It's great!

I will include an autographed copy of my novel, Aberrations, with the purchase of this piece.

I'm a American figurative expressionist painter. I spent the first half of my adult life writing fiction, and then began painting in 2008. I'm the author of five books, including four novels. My art often includes a strong sense of character and story. My primary subject is the complexity of women. It's influenced by fashion photography and a childhood spent immersed in the high-end interior design industry. My mother was a successful designer whose work was featured in publications such as Architectural Digest and Southern Living.

To better understand some of the underlying themes and emotional content that influence my art, read my (almost) memoir, Please Love Me, as well as my other books. It can be found on Amazon, along with my other titles.

My work is a blend of acrylic, ink and pastel. I use my fingers for the majority of the work. I work intuitively with a focus on color and composition.
