Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

Some of the stories about the meeting of Solomon and Sheba speak of the Hoopoe acting as messenger between them. Sheba travelled over land and sea from her home in Ethiopia or Yemen (according to which version you believe) to meet Solomon, and returned home pregnant with his child. Whatever else it is, it is a story that captures the imagination and this is my version of their meeting, accompanied by the beautiful bird.

I had to throw in the peacock feathers and black and white squares as a reference to the balance of good or maybe bad luck which might befall them and their heirs
