Artist's description:

This painting was inspired by the long and hard winter we experienced in Scotland this year (2017/18), and a day when I was up Blackford Hill in south Edinburgh, sledging with my daughter, when the snow started falling thick and fast. The two figures toiling through the snow represent all of us toiling through the winter, which was in itself incredibly beautiful (if cold!) at times.

The painting was started in fluid acrylic under-layers, then finished in water-miscible oil paint which gives the painting surface an attractive texture and sheen. Sides of the box canvas are painted white to match the painting, so can be hung as it is, or could be framed if preferred.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint (underlayer) and water-miscible oil paint

Snowstorm, Blackford Hill (Edinburgh) - oil painting on box canvas - ready to hang - snow, nature, people, winter (2018)
