In my neck of the woods, Juncos signify the beginning of winter. I am always grateful when they leave, but admit to enjoying their flashing white tails in my yard. Some of the snowflakes are raised by using Daniel SmIth's watercolor ground and stencils, giving them a three dimensional look. Painted as one of my 30 paintings in 30 days challenge, this painting will be used for my Christmas card this year. He will arrive matted in white and backed with archival materials.
