Artist's description:

This is entitled 'Smiley Face of Ayers to Oz' (A to Z) and is one off artwork part of a collection of original, one off Monoprints Sketches on A4 Paper.

This work is has been hand-mixed by the Artist by using Primary Colours to form Yellow Ochre and is part of the Earth Element, see below.

This is collection of one-off unique Monoprints. The Artist is exploring Colours. Inspiration for the Colours have been taken from the Colours of 'Lego' Building Block, as either Single Colour Monoprints, Primary Colours of Blue, Red, Yellow or Duo-Colours made up by mixing two Primary Colours together to form a new colour of Orange (made from Yellow & Red), Green (made from Yellow & Blue) etc.

Secondly, the Artist is exploring these Colours by relating these to Four Elements, (Fire, Water, Earth & Air), and a Fifth Element (yet unknown, TBC). Such that Fire, relates to the Sun, Water relates to Sea (Refugees at Sea, Survivors of the Titanic), Earth relates to Aerial View of the Landscape (Green Landscape of Eire, Ireland, Yellow Ochre of Aboriginal Ayres Rock, Australia etc), Air relates to Sky, Universe, Aircraft (White Flag of Bloody Sunday flying in the Air) etc, inspired by film 'The Fifth Element' (1997)

Monoprints ('Lego' Bricks) are to combined to form a new Larger Work, (i.e 'Wall' made up of 'Bricks'), has been inspired by Henry Matisse work 'The Snail'.

This is piece of Conceptual Art. It is to form a series of unique but repetitive works. This has been inspired by the film Australia (indicated by Oz in the Tittle, and refers from A to Z, Ayers to Oz). The Artist is replicating the land by using earth colours similar to that used in Aboriginal Art ie. Earth element of Ayers Rock, Australia
