Slipstream evokes the racing forward motion of mackerel on the move weaving and darting through the ocean.
The background was painted wet into wet to describe the changing light under the water and each fish has more than 5 layers of watercolour wash including two iridescent shimmering glazes.
The iridescent medium changes the appearance of the painting with the changing light and is best viewed in oblique sunlight- it evokes the flash of silver as a fish swims by.
It is have me an excuse to use my favourite palette of blues, green, turquoise and violet- gorgeous!
This work has been framed in a stylish lime washed beechwood frame and is ready to hang.
A work about packaging and shipping:
I almost always recycle outside packaging, being a good planetarian but rest assured while it does not look pretty it will be well protected with bubble wrap and card inside.
I ship larger items via Courier that normally takes 5 working days, and smaller items via the Royal Mail.
