Artist's description:

A stylized illustrative watercolour painting, focusing on the mundane feeling of having to wait around. The model had a meditative, 1000 mile stare, reminding the viewer of experiences in airports or lines. One is not truly asleep, but they may as well be, just as when we sleep we are waiting for our lives to continue. Thinking about things but accomplishing nothing.

Materials used:

Arches 300g/m² cold press watercolour paper, Schmincke, Winsor and Newton paints. Winsor and Newton India Ink.

Sleeping at the Airport (2017)
